We’re teaming up with our friends at the Luol Deng Foundation to deliver a series of clinics simply called: ‘Next Level’. The clinics are designed to help elite players further develop and nurture their skills while providing much needed help in increasing their exposure for future opportunities throughout the UK, mainland Europe, USA and all other parts of the globe.
The concept is straight-forward: to provide players with aspirations of playing at the ‘Next Level’ with the tools to help them make it happen. ‘Next Level’ is about developing the right skill-set, knowledge and understanding of what it truly takes to develop and break through to a higher level – wherever that may be – while providing each player in attendance with increased exposure to the levels they aspire to reach.
Basketball is undoubtedly a global game, with opportunities for talented players increasing faster than ever before. For the players who are eager to take advantage of these opportunities, Next Level serves as a bridge between where you are now and where your talent may allow you to go. We promise no miracles or promises of scholarships or contracts your talent may not deserve - instead, we deliver an honest evaluation of where you are right now and provide you with a realistic step by step pathway towards where you want to go. In addition, we will help increase your exposure and profile to coaches both nationally and internationally, at the levels you are trying to reach.
We're bringing together a team of former players and coaches with credentials second to none, who have reached the highest levels of the game both at home and overseas, who have come together to give back to the next generation of potential stars so they can understand what it takes to really make it through to the 'Next Level'. The events will be focused around skills evaluations and testing, while also introducing players to new drills and workouts they can use to continue to get better all year-round. Our staff includes Ajou Deng (University Of Connecticut), Ronnie Baker (England’s most-capped Men’s International), Junior Williams (England U16 assistant coach, former Jr & Sr England & GB International), Julius Joseph (GB International, European Pro A & NCAA D2 All-American) plus a host of other top players and coaches with National Championship winning pedigree. In addition to the coaches, all workouts will be closely evaluated by our team of scouts who will be building profiles on every single player in attendance, so we can provide you with the information you need in order to get better.
“The line-up of coaches and scouts on the day speaks for itself and underpins the Deng Foundation’s commitment to providing support and quality opportunities for development of the game in Britain. Luol is keen to ensure players are being given the tools they need to continue to get better and will have major input into how this develops” said LDF’s CEO Steve Vear. MM's Jackson Gibbons added: “This is a great opportunity for British players. It’s no secret that we’re continually contacted by coaches in the states, Europe and at home, asking us who the best players are each year - we see this as a great vehicle to provide them with that information while equipping the players with the knowledge and information they need to make sure they're ready when their time comes. It fits perfectly alongside what we do in the summer."
The clinics will include athletic testing, intense drill-focused workouts followed by competitive scrimmages where a Top 20 List will be formed enabling each age group to be ranked and individually scored so they can work on improving their scores in future workouts.
'Next Level' is currently focused on the U16, U18 and U21 age groups, with places at all workouts at a premium. All playing spots are by invite only, unless otherwise stated. If you are interested in being invited along to the next workout fill in the online signup form today so we can evaluate your suitability for the next event.
