Midnight Madness are the first to bring efficiency statistics into an ‘open run’ type event, that is open to any player over the age of 16. When it comes to ballers, we don’t discriminate…we appreciate! Our Ball Without Bias scoring system allows any player to come along to one of our events and be scored on the same ability testing merits as everyone else – all this simply means is…the better you play, the longer you stay!

Scoring system:

• BASIC POINTS

	Statistic : Games won Description : How many times your team(s) win on the Elite Court Points Awarded : 3 Points
	Statistic : Made Basket Description : Each time you successfully shoot the ball through the basket Points Awarded : 1 Points
	Statistic : Rebound Description : Each time you are first to secure a missed shot, offensively or defensively Points Awarded : 1 Points
	Statistic : Assist Description : Each time your pass leads to a team mate scoring without them having to dribble (aside from passes that lead to uncontested lay ups) Points Awarded : 1 Points
	Statistic : Blocked Shot Description : Each time you defensively block an offensive players shot without fouling Points Awarded : 1 Points
	Statistic : Steal Description : Each time you individually gain possession of the ball for your team from your opponent in open play Points Awarded : 1 Points

• BONUS POINTS (These points are awarded in addition to the basic points)

	Statistic : Slam Dunks Description : Each time you successfully slam the ball through the basket Points Awarded : 1 Points
	Statistic : Made 3 Pointers Description : Each time you successfully score a 3 pointer Points Awarded : 1 Points
	Statistic : Degree Of Difficulty Description : Each time you successfully score a basket after creating a shot that is difficult for an average player to perform (e.g. a tight crossover dribble, hangtime lay up in traffic etc.) – Please note: bonus points will only be awarded if the difficult shot is scored. This bonus may also be added to the Slam Dunk bonus, if the Slam Dunk is of an extremely difficult nature (such as successfully dunking on someone in open play, windmill dunk, 360 dunk etc). This bonus may also be added to the Made 3 Pointer if it is of an extremely difficult nature (such as a heavily contested shot or ‘NBA range’ 3 from anywhere apart from the sidelines or corners). Points Awarded : 1 Points
	Statistic : Hustle Play Description : 1- Each time you get a deflection of the ball on defense that leads to the ball being knocked out of bounds 2- Each time you successfully draw an offensive foul/charge on defense 3- Each time you set a legal screen that leads directly to your team mate scoring Points Awarded : 1 Points

• NEGATIVE POINTS

	Statistic : Missed Basket Description : Each time you miss a shot/scoring attempt Points Awarded : -1 Points
	Statistic : Turnover Description : Each time you lose possession of the ball Points Awarded : -1 Points
	Statistic : Foul Description : Each time you foul a member of the opposing team Points Awarded : -1 Points
